A four-part relationship drama for BBC1 starring David Tennant and Suranne Jones, Single Father is about a man struggling to raise his children after the death of his wife, and finding love after heartbreak.

DAVE and his partner RITA have three kids of their own, PAUL (12), EWAN (9) and EVIE (5) plus one teenager each from former relationships - LUCY (15) and TANYA (18), who has a child herself.  Life is good, if a little messy.

But when RITA is hit and killed outright by a speeding police car, everything changes forever.

DAVE must hold together his shattered family, while dealing with his own grief. In the months that follow, RITA'S best friend SARAH becomes DAVE's rock always there with support but in a charged moment of shared anguish, their relationship crosses a line into more than just friendship.
