It’s A Sin won in the New Drama category at the National Television Awards.
Star of the show, Olly Alexander said when accepting the award:
“Thank you so so much. Honestly this show is so brilliant, from everybody in the cast, to the crew in the production, behind the scenes, everybody who put their all into making this show and it was the hugest privilege of my life to be a part of it, so thank you to everybody who voted”
Writer & Creator of the show, Russell T Davies also said:
“This is a story about a pandemic in which many people lost their lives. So it’s nice to dedicate this to those we lost, those who lived, those who learned and those we loved. Here’s to them.”
At Television’s biggest night of the year, the show was up against Bridgerton, Des and Normal People for the award.
Olly Alexander was also nominated in the Drama Performance category for his role as Ritchie Tozer in It’s A Sin, but lost out to David Tennant for his performance in Des. Rounding out the list of nominees were Line of Duty trio Adrian Dunbar, Martin Compston & Vicky McClure.
