Sarah Lancashire wins BAFTA

Congratulations to Sarah Lancashire, who won the award for Best Supporting Actress at the BAFTA Television Awards on Sunday night for her work in Last Tango in Halifax.

Accepting the gong from presenter Martin Freeman, Sarah expressed her gratitude for being nominated alongside Shirley Henderson, Claire Rushbrook and co-star Nicola Walker, as well as her great admiration for the cast and crew of Last Tango in Halifax.

Sarah plays Caroline, a successful school headmistress struggling with depression, a failed marriage and feelings for a female colleague. When her mother Celia rekindles the flame of an old love via Facebook, Caroline sees a chance to embrace her new lifestyle changes and admit who she really is.

Sarah can currently be seen in Happy Valley on BBC One. A third series of Last Tango in Halifax is currently in development.
